Thanks to all the kids at Fall Creek Elementary for attending our presentations for your annual “Mini Sessions” Day. Summit and Heather had a great time teaching everyone how to be safe around unfamiliar dogs and showing off some of his goofy tricks. Summit especially enjoyed the tennis balls at the bottoms of all the kid’s metal chairs. Between the 80 tennis balls and all the kids, I think he wanted to move in!

emBARK at the Express Game Aug 8, 2009
Saturday, August 8th, 2009We had a great time at the Eau Claire County Humane Association night at the Eau Claire Express baseball game at Carson Park. emBARK co-sponsored the night as we promoted the shelter. Heather’s dog, Summit got to bring out the official game balls as he ran into the field with his hiking pack full of game balls. It was a gorgeous night to support a local team, support our local shelter, and to watch baseball and drink some Budweiser! Thanks for all the fans that came out to cheer on the team!

Dr. Ian Dunbar – Seminar – Chicago July 2009
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009Dyan and Heather travelled to Chicago on July 10-13 for an Ian Dunbar seminar. For those of you who are “in the know” of dog training, Dr. Dunbar is the founder of Sirius Dog Training, the world’s foremost expert in puppy training. Dr. Dunbar’s work has shaped how dog training is approached, and his knowledge is used all over the world. We picked up SO many ideas at this seminar. The topics covered included : Biting, Fighting and Aggression ; Constraints on Learning Theory ; and Applied Learning Theory. It was an amazing weekend and we are excited to add things into our classes. With some individual help from Dr. Dunbar, I am excited to add changes to our current Puppy Einstein class to make it even better. We are constantly evolving and learning so that we may bring you the most current information on dog training out there!
