This 90 min one day workshop will be an overview of the 10 items on the CGC test. You will teach/practice the skills listed below:
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Allows instructor to comb or lightly brush the dog, includes ear and foot exam (attendees should provide comb or brush of their choosing)
- Walking nicely on a loose leash. includes right and left turn, about turn and stop
- Walking through a group of people
- Sit and down on command, includes handler walking 20 ft away while the dog stays in position
- Come when called from 10 feet away
- Demonstrate ability to calmly pass another dog
- Demonstrate a reasonable recovery from a distraction such as an item being dropped
- Supervised Separation, meaning the dog calmly accepts the handler going out of site for 3 min while being held on a 6′ leash by the evaluator.
